Washburn Guitars is a division of U.S. Music Corp., a global leader in the production and distribution of fretted instruments, amplification and sound reinforcement. The 125-year-old company began as a high quality manufacturer of stringed instruments in Chicago and has since acquired Oscar Schmidt (makers of the harp and student instruments), Sound Tech (sound reinforcement and pro audio equipment), Randall amps and is the latest acquisition, Vinci Strings. U.S. Music Corp. is qualified as one of the top 50 companies in the global music industry and is currently in Mundelein, Illinois.
Many great guitarists playing guitars Washburn. Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has been playing the Washburn RR300 for two years and was very surprised with the guitar at this time. Washburn, when he was approached a Limited Edition of the firm, gladly agreed to work with Washburn on this special offer.
The RW300 brings together a Seymour Duncan P90 style pickup and a Fishman preamp with a piezo bridge. These pickups, combined with the camera body, solid mahogany spruce top, reduce opportunities for feedback and give the RW300 acoustic tone tremendously precise and vibrant. Roger was the creator and sonic architect of the indisputable classics like Dark Side Of The Moon (which spent nearly 15 years on the Billboard 200 album chart), The Wall (which has been certified 23x RIAA platinum), Animals, Wish You Were Here, and Final Cut. After Final Cut, Roger Waters left Pink Floyd.
His first solo album length, the pros and cons of hitchhiking was launched in April 1984 to critical and commercial success of large, the generation of his first solo tour. June 1987 Radio KAOS "continued the path of solo success, bringing Roger back to the scene. His last album lonely long, the moody and ironic Amused To Death, considered by many as an achievement comparable to Dark Side Of The Moon or the wall, was released in August 1992.
Waters has been working on Ca Ira (pronounced sa IRA), an opera in English and French, a rock album to be released in Echoes of 2002, and best of Pink Floyd, who was re-mastered by long time Pink Floyd producer James Guthrie.
