Guitar Hardshell
Gibson owners. Have you had to send a guitar back to the factory for repair?
I bought a Gibson ES-175 about 6 months ago and have found a crack between the end of the neck and first pickup. It has to go back to the factory for warranty repair.
Should I just send it in the hardshell case it comes with?
Is there anyone out there who can comfort me about the transportion of the guitar and the quality of work Gibson will do. They say it will take up to 3 months.
Fortunately, I have other guitars to play with until then but who wants to send a $4,000 guitar across country by UPS?
I havent sent my Gibson LP Studio to Gibson for repairs..i had it done locally since it was just the pickup.
I’d send it hardshell case for sure. It’s better to be safe when you’re sending a Gibson right??? Also loosen the strings..so that the neck doesnt strain.
UPS should put Fragile sticker on it, and they should take care of it as long as you prepare it for the travel. Hardcase for sure though, it’s gonna pass through many hands before it gets to the Gibson guys.
